Cambridge, MA, June 20, 2012 – ACG New York and The M&A Advisor revealed the winners in 35 different categories for the 2nd Annual ACG New York Champion’s Awards at a sold-out gala dinner at Sotheby’s New York. MedCap Advisors was recognized as a winner for Healthcare/Life Sciences Deal of the Year for its landmark transaction between CONMED (NASDAQ:CNMD) Corporation and the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation (MTF), a nonprofit organization and the world’s largest tissue bank.

“This award is a remarkable honor that also highlights the groundbreaking nature of the MTF agreement and the growing importance of biologics in the medical technology field,” said Mr. Christopher Velis, CEO of MedCap Advisors. “Our entire team would like to thank ACG New York and The M&A Advisor for selecting us among the many esteemed finalists.”

An independent body of experts, who represent a cross-section of the middle market industry, judged the finalists’ deals, deal makers and firms. The event was hosted by CNBC’s Kayla Tausche.

“ACG New York is proud to host our second annual celebration of outstanding middle-market dealmakers and deals in the New York region and to recognize our friend and colleague Burt Alimansky for his contributions to ACG New York and to the middle-market private equity community at large,” stated Stephen Prostor, president of ACG New York.

“The 2nd Annual ACG New York Champion’s Awards winners represent the best of M&A in the New York area in 2012, and MedCap Advisors earned these honors by distinguishing themselves in a group of very impressive finalists,” said Roger Aguinaldo, CEO of The M&A Advisor. “Despite the current challenging economic conditions, MedCap Advisors has demonstrated that perseverance and performance lead to success in this market.”
